hey i really want a desktop manager i looked a compiz fusion but it said i needed linux desktop. What Is That???
Also is there a better desktop manger besides compiz???????

I have tried yodm 3d but that didnt work at all.

compiz-fusion is not a desktop manager its a compositing window manager with a set of plugins and configuration files for your desktop,

i use kde4 (K desktop environment 4) with dolphin file manager running on mandriva linux 2010,

compiz allows me to have a 3D desktop cube, wobbly windows, rain, snow, fire writing, windscreen wipers, skydome – all configurable (there are hundreds more things but just to many to list)

i can have 128 desktops on 1 pc (but i stick to 4 – one on each side of my cube)

a lot can be controlled by my keyboard (eg flatten my cube = ctrl, alt + down arrow)

there is also the super key which comes in very handy with compiz – its the left windows key

compiz-fusion is for linux desktops,

linux is a free open source operating system that competes with windows and mac,
linux is not windows and windows programs will not run on linux,
unported linux programs will not run on windows

Question by hoar mouth: Would it be possible to install, configure and administer a Linux desktop without a keyboard?
…and if I uninstalled the terminal emulator? Some say desktop Linux is easier to administer than Windows. If that’s the case, there’s no need to use a terminal EVER, right? Can I get by if I install Linux then uninstall the console first thing?

you need the terminal and you cannot uninstall it, you also need your keyboard,

you will not be able to root without your keyboard as you will need to type your password,
you will also need your keyboard and terminal if you need to change system files,

and you WILL need to use your terminal
